It is a juicy red wine with aromas of ripe red fruit, sweet spicy notes and hints of liquorice.
On the palate it is silky, sweet and balanced with subtle touches of wood.
The Hécula Organic grapes grow at about 750 meters on two farms owned by the winery: Las Gruesas and Pozuelo.
The average age of the vines is around 40 years. The planting density is 1,600 vines per hectare, while the yield is also around 2,000-4,000 kilos per hectare. The harvest takes place in the month of October and the grains are quickly transported to the cellar.
The Hécula Organic grapes first ferment for between eight and ten days at a temperature of around 25º. Subsequently, the Hécula Organic must goes through a malolactic fermentation process.
Before going on the market and without being stabilized, Hécula Organic rests for six months in French oak barrels.
