The Pago del Cielo winery has started with the 2015 vintage of the emblematic Celeste, a single-varietal Tinto Fino (Tempranillo) recognized nationally and internationally.
The winery extends its vineyards through a privileged area in the heart of the Ribera del Duero, surrounded by valleys and mountains that reach almost 900 meters above sea level in the Valladolid municipality of Fompedraza. Wine has been produced in this area since the 12th century, since it has a climate and soils that, combined, manage to ripen the Tinto Fino grapes in a unique way, which in this area is how the Tempranillo variety is known.
By having vineyards higher than those in the rest of the area, winemaker Juan Ramón García, advised by Javier Ausás, from the Vega Sicilia Group, makes his wines fresher than those of the surrounding environment. The end result is optimal, and this is supported by the large number of awards that specialized critics give to Celeste, one of the best-selling wines in our country, and that finds more consensus among consumer opinions.
It is exciting to witness the birth of a new winery that is committed to quality, merging tradition and avant-garde.
The first step has been taken by making a great wine that is now available to all our members. We are sure that no one will be left indifferent by Celeste in her different presentations, which is why we wish Pago del Cielo a long life.
