Bodega Doña Felisa is located at 900m above sea level, surrounded by 3 natural parks, Sierra de las Nieves Natural Park, Sierra de Grazalema Natural Park and Alameda del Tajo. In the vicinity of the Roman ruins of Acinipo, called 'Land of Wines', where coins minted with a bunch of grapes and remains of wine presses have been found, which endorse the great wine tradition of the area. Ronda is an unbeatable place for growing vines, with small microclimates that give rise to a generous variability of products. We have a clay loam soil, with limestone in lower horizons that helps retain soil moisture.
Our climate is one of the essential pillars for the development of the vine, a Mediterranean climate with great Atlantic influence, with temperature fluctuations between day and night that can reach up to 20ºC difference. With a wide selection of varieties, both international and native: Tempranillo, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Merlot, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Fran, Graciano, Garnacha, Petit Verdot, Tintilla de Rota, which have adapted perfectly to our different plots.
Our work in the field is done manually, controlling the entire vegetative cycle of the plant. Without the use of herbicides or any product that is harmful to the environment. Our crew carries out winter pruning, green pruning and harvesting manually. We harvest at night, preventing the grapes from suffering the high temperatures in our area, and we carry out an exhaustive selection of the bunches that we receive in the winery, avoiding leaves, branches... all of this in 15-kg harvest boxes, thus avoiding the start of spontaneous fermentation or fruit damage.
