Although the old Chteau d'Esclans cellar dates back to the 12th century and in 1994, when the property was purchased by a Swedish pension fund, a small amount of wine began to be produced there, it was not until the arrival of Lichine that the The firm took off definitively until it became what it is today: one of the most prominent firms in the Var, the department where most of the rosés from Provence are made.
Its wines with a modern, cosmopolitan, sophisticated and fresh image are born from old Garnacha vines, the majority variety of its 140 hectares of vineyards; Vermentino; Cinsault; Merlot; Mourvedre; Syrah and Tibouren. A strict care guides all the activity of the chteau, from the daily work in the field, to the elaboration in the cellar, passing through the harvest, carried out only from dawn to noon to prevent excess heat from reducing the quality of the picked grapes. And it is that the classification is one of the strong points of the house, with a first manual sieve.
After the perfect destemming of the grapes, they undergo a visual selection through an optical eye programmed to detect all those berries that do not meet the demanding quality criteria established by the winemaker. In this way, the best raw material is guaranteed to make its wines, magnificent exponents of the new boom in Provençal rosés.
