Salmos 2017 is the homage of the Torres family to the Carthusian monks who, in 1095, arrived in Priorat and began the cultivation of vines on its steep licorella soils. Depository of that ancestral heritage, combined with the singular terroir of the D.O.Q., this coupage of Cariñena, Grenache and Syrah seduces with its concentrated nose and its energetic and velvety mouthfeel.
Nose: Intense, concentrated. With a seductive fruit expression (cassis jam) that culminates in fine raisined notes (plums) and a distinctive mineral touch of the terroir.
Palate: On the palate it is firm, energetic, tasty and with an elegant velvety tannin. Persistent and round.
Estates located on steep slopes in the Central Priory, with poor soils and a volcanic constitution, which gives the wines a strong mineral character.
Surface: Shallow llicorella (slate) soils with great drainage.
Soil: The vineyards are planted on steep slopes of schist (licorella stone).
Vinification: Maceration for 20 days. Fermentation between 9 and 12 days in stainless steel tanks with temperature control (26-27ºC). Malolactic in French oak boots.
Aging: 14 months in French oak barrels, a quarter of which are new.
