Originally from the Doña Margarita vineyard, named in honor of the mother of Marimar Torres, owner of the winery, this Pinot noir monovarietal surprises with its aromatic intensity and its fleshy and complex palate. Three different clones of the gala variety make up the blend that was perfected after aging in select barrels from four top-class French cooperages.
Nose: Elegant nose, with classic varietal aromas of wild cherries, clove and sandalwood and characteristic undergrowth notes.
Palate: Soft and graceful tannins and a round, complex and fleshy palate.
Name: Doña Margarita
Description: Vineyard with low yields planted with three different clones of Pinot noir (Dijon 115, Pommard and Dijon 667). Area: 8 hectares.
Climate: Cool breezes and mists from the Pacific Ocean, 10 kilometers away, contribute to an ideal climate for Pinot noir. Harvest: Harvest between September 9 and 13.
Vinification: After minimal pressing of the grapes, the must fermented in small stainless steel vats, using native yeast.
Ageing: The wine was aged for 10 months in first quality French oak barrels (39% new), from the Remond coopers, from the Bertranges, Marchive and Rousseau forests of central France.
