This spectacular red wine represents the essence of Granja Nuestra Señora de Remelluri, the first winery in Rioja based on a single vineyard estate following the classic Bordeaux Medoc model. The grapes for Granja Remelluri come from the selection of the best vineyards that surround the winery that belong to Granja Nuestra Señora de Remelluri since its foundation by the Hieronymite monks in the fourteenth century. Vintage in which an Atlantic profile and a limited production stand out.
Nose: Pleasant notes of black fruit, chocolate, pipe tobacco and with a black and mineral background.
Mouth: Warm, deep and elegant step. Tasty, structured and with the point of acidity typical of the vineyards that give it balance, liveliness and great aging capacity.
Name: Nuestra Señora de Remelluri
Farm Description: Vineyards planted at an altitude of between 680 and 780 meters in the municipalities of Labastida and San Vicente de la Sonsierra in the districts of Doroño, Villaescusa, San Esteban, Cascajo and Portillo. Soil: Terraces of poor limestone of a calcareous-clay nature, with a bedrock that outcrops in areas.
Climate: The 2013 vintage is characterized by its Atlantic component, marked by abundant rainfall and a cold spring that delayed the vegetative cycle.
Harvest: The manual harvest took place between October 28 and November 2.
Vinification: Naturally fermented with native yeast in small wooden vats.
Ageing: Aging for between 29 and 30 months in barrels and foudres of different sizes.
