View cherry red with garnet reflections
A ripe nose of cherries, violets and strawberry jam, advances a complexity that seems impossible for a wine in which the barrel does not play a leading role, demonstrating that what is fundamental does not require artifice.
Juicy, ripe fruit on the palate, with a flash of greenery and acidity that refreshes it. Fair and seductive volume, silky, but also vibrant, thanks to a tension that prevents the wine from decaying at some point and to the earthy skeleton of the clay. Clove, some vanilla and wild fruit combined with scrubs lead to a lightly toasted, fruit-packed finish that is essential.
Fermented with wild yeasts and vinified with a minimum amount of sulphites, El Fundamentalista was aged for 15 months in used 300-litre barrels.
Monastrell vines with more than a decade, planted at more than 800 meters of altitude in La Manchuela, combined with bobal bunches. Family vineyard planted in limestone soils, a faithful expression of a singular terroir close to the Serranía de Cuenca.
