Viñátigo arose in 1990 as a result of the generational change in a family of small viticulturists-bodegueros from the north of Tenerife with several generations of tradition.

From the centenary vineyard of the Cabo Verde estate, Viñátigo began its journey, where taking advantage of this family legacy, at first it began by improving the traditional elaborations of the Listán Blanco and Listán Negro, in the old winery located in the house of the grandparents, where it remained until 1997.

As of this year we moved to the current facilities, on the outskirts of the town of La Guancha, where with much better working conditions, the entire recovery and enhancement project of the enormous wine heritage of the Canary Islands.

Bodegas Viñátigo has based its project on the recovery and enhancement of the extensive wine varietal heritage that exists in the Canary Islands. As a result of this work that we began at the end of the 1990s, we have managed to make numerous varieties known and dignified: Gual, Marmajuelo, Vijariego, Tintilla, Baboso, Malvasia, etc.

All this effort has been carried out with the utmost respect for the environment, both in the viticultural field, applying sustainable cultivation techniques, and in the construction of the winery building itself, using local materials and construction designs that minimize energy consumption.
